June’s special guest writer is Shawn Whitsell, a Nashville activist, poet, playwright, actor, director, producer and founder of the Destiny Theatre Experience. He tours his original one-man show entitled 23/1, a play about solitary confinement, which the Nashville Scene called "The Best Blend of Theatre and Activism." Shawn also facilitates a variety of interactive workshops, ranging from drama to spoken word to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and is a poet mentor for Southern Word.
