GETTING TO KNOW BURNETA CLAYTON

Name and any story behind how you got it...

Burneta, named after my mother’s foster parents, the Burnets. They added the “a” and changed the pronunciation. So the e is a long e.

Birthday

January 18, 1936, that’s 86 years ago, that’s a long time ago!

Your family...

Three children, four grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, former husband, two cousins, a brother and sister-in-law, etc.

Art and Soul Member since...

2009 or 10?

A favorite Art & Soul memory?

I was a potter for my “career.” Never had any interest in painting but enjoyed drawing and went to A&S for that. But the class I signed up for turned out to be CADP or PD?—guess I didn’t figure out what that stood for! But the first thing was Blind Painting. Huge piece of paper, lots of sloshy tempera and a blindfold! Voîla, I fell in love with painting.

Most recent re- read... All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Favorite vacation... The coast, preferably rocky and wild, but I also love the beach.

How old were you when you had your first celebrity crush and who was it? Probably 8 or 10, June Allyson, movie actress

From Proust’s Questionnaire:

Which living person do you most admire? Maybe Barack Obama

What is your current state of mind? Patience alternating with impatience, seeking to live in the moment.

What is your most treasured possession? One would think there are many,

since I have so many possessions, but truly if the house were on fire, I’d grab something functional. Most of my life I would have said the Glass and Brass Clock that was my father’s.

Maybe I should take the many external hard drives of photos.
