Autumn is not quite here, but once in a while a cool breeze whispers that it’s on the way. Asters, those September flowers, nod yes, yes, Fall is coming. The basil plant releases its peppery black seeds, and the cat spends more time tucked into a cozy spot. Summer-hot days still lie ahead, but Autumn is truly on the way.
At Art & Soul, the coming of Autumn has filled us with fresh energy. We anticipate a season of fun classes and events, including our annual Open House the weekend of September 7 and a reunion Art Party on October 25 honoring our Founding Members. We’re also welcoming lots of new art students who are restarting their art or recharging their creative energy. So an exciting Fall is ahead of us. We hope you can join us for an event or a class— we have one online now and hope to add others.
Meanwhile, here’s an idea to usher you into Autumn:
Paul Klee talked about drawing “an active line on a walk, moving freely without a goal.” So take an active line for a walk across a piece of paper (the one below is in orange). Then fill in with doodles of your choice. This one is “Autumn.”
We are so grateful for you, our supporters and friends! We hope your Autumn is healthy, happy, and creative.
Wishing you a beautiful, bountiful September,
Karyn Henley for the Art & Soul Board
