Service Description
Drawing from life has traditionally been the foundation of all painting, printing, composition and abstraction. Think cave painting! Think Picasso! Regardless of your experience with drawing the figure, there’s a place for you in this class. Provided materials include soft charcoal, ink, pencils and a variety of other drawing materials. Working with an experienced model, we start with short poses to capture each gesture, working kinesthetically and quickly, bypassing the mind’s habitual commentary. Gradually we move to longer poses, building our observational skills and responses. Working in a group raises our energy and is loads of fun! All skill levels welcome. All materials and live model provided. Optional: If participants have preferred drawing materials, they may bring them. Participants should bring a sack lunch and water bottle, journal or notebook, and wear clothes for movement and mess-making. *** Fee: $75 (Members 15% discount with coupon code at checkout) If the class is full but you would like to be added to the waitlist, please email registration@artandsoulnashville.com. Art & Soul classes are for ages 17 and up. If you would like to request an exception, please contact the studio to see if the teacher can make accommodations for younger participants. Masks are not required in the studio, but please feel free to wear one. If you are vulnerable, let us know so we can provide a safe, masked space for you. Cancelation policy: you may request a refund (minus any PayPal fees and a $10 cancelation fee) up to seven (7) days prior to the scheduled date of the class or workshop. No refund is available after that date. Refunds are also unavailable if you do not show up or if you leave an event early for any reason.
